I'm looking for information about an Amanda Gaskill, born around 1803 in Carteret County. According to some early court records she had some connection with John N. Hamilton, John H. Styron, and James Nelson, and all served as bondsmen for her in 1829. Family legend says that she was a third or fourth generation Gaskill born in North Carolina, and I have some descendant info but I've found nothing about her parentage so far. Has anyone else come across this name?
