Hi Alan - so good to hear from you. Will keep a good watch for your messages.

Joseph's parents were probably married prior to 1830. Wish I had more to offer you at this time. Joseph's wife Mary Caldwell's parents Henry and Elizabeth Caldwell were pretty easy to find on the 1851 Census. Henry was born in Lowton, Elizabeth and their children were born in W. Derby.

There is a John and Ann Gaskell listed on the 1851 Census for Worsley/Tyldesley, but I'm not sure these are the people I'm looking for. John is listed as 63 and Ann as 54, both born in Worsley. Joseph is living with a William Hilton and family in Swinton during the 1851 Census. Hope to hear from you soon.
