Yes I too have heard about the Gascony and the Huguenot information, but have not seen anything in the way of proof.There were Gascoignes in Virginia, and Elder William Brewster of the Plymouth Colony had a mother-in-law that was Grace Gascoigne.
Gaccoignes were wine merchants from Gascony that settlen in Yorkshire in the 1050's.If I find anything in my search, I will let you know.
