The Wiltshire Visitation tells us when and where Ann Hobbes married Thomas Momeppeson. It does not tell us when Mrs. Ann (Hobbes) Mompesson married Henry Gascoigne and that is what I am trying to find. Where in Yorkshrie and when in Yorkshire did Ann marry Henry?

It is apparent that someone misinterepted what the Wiltshire Visistation actually said when they told us that HENRY had married Ann 22 Mary 1589 in Salisbury Cathedral.

I ordered the marraige of Ann Hobbes which is located in the Wiltshire Records Office in England. It states that she married Thomas Mompesson on 22 May 1589 and NOT Henry Gascoigne as we have seen in various books in print. It also states that she was married at St. Edwards Church in Salisbury and there is no recorded marriage for Ann Hobbes or Ann Mompesson in the Salisbury Cathedral in Salisbury. There don't seem to be any Gascoigne marriages in this time period recroded at Salisbury Cathedral.

If Ann married Henry Gascoigne in Yorkshire, is there a record of this marriage? How did Ann get from Wiltshire to Yorkshire is another interesting question.

The bottom line is that we can no longer claim that Ann Hobbes married Henry Gascoigne in Salisbury Cathedral on 22 May 1589. That information is incorrect.
