Gascoignes in Helmdon, Northants, UK 1780-1870

I have (at least) three generations of blacksmiths in my Gascoigne line: John (b. 1870), George (b. 1834) and William (b.c. 1786). They all lived in Helmdon, Northants. I've found it impossible to trace any further back than William (who is my g-g-g-grandfather).

John married Caroline (Lizzie) Wells of Culworth.
George married Amelia Kelcher of Plumpton.
William married Rachel Gulliver of Middleton Cheney. (Rachel may have been his second wife.)

Are any of these names familiar to anyone?

There's one question that I'd love to have answered: might this branch of the Gascoigne family be of Huguenot descent?

I'd really appreciate any info.
