It is my understanding the name"GASKIN" was also, GASCON, GASCOIGNE and GASCOYNE.
My grandmother's maiden name was GASKIN.
Her home was in the Camden, SC area.
I believe my linage is through DARLING MONROE GASKIN b: 1801. m: Mary (or Polly) Nelson, the daughter of John Nelson, Sr. and Ruth Stratford Nelson.
Ezekiel Ephraim GASKIN, Sr. b: 1745 and d: 7/18/1811 in Kershaw Co, SC. would have been my gggg-grandfather.
As we all know the search is tuff and confusing.
My "LATTA BRANCH #12" family is also from that area.
My gggg-grandfather was JAMES LATTA of Historic "LATTA PLACE", Huntersville, SC.
I am willing to share what small contribution I may have to documentation of family history.
