Gascoigne's in Connecticut

Hello Gacoigne family members, and please excuse the intrusion! I am looking for information about a Mr. Gascoigne (possible first initial "C"), who came to Winsted, Connecticut in 1852, and formed a Cutlery in partnership with a Mr. Thompson. Thompson & Gascoigne were soon taken over ca. 1856 by Alvord & Beardsley, and the company was named Empire Knife Company. There are some rare knives marked Thompson & Gascoigne, and a collector has found one marked C. Gascoigne! This email is an attempt to find the history of that knife, and all others related, which I will gladly share with your family group!
Thanks in advance for any help,
