I have traced my Gascoigne line back to Stephen Gascoigne, born in Bolsover 1832/33.
I have found a source that indicates he may have been illegitimate. His mother is listed as a Mary Gaskin, no father is listed. Stephen's name varies between Gaskin and Gascoigne is different records.
I have searched the Bolsover Parish Records for christening 1815-1865 but no Stephen was listed.
Any clues/info welcome.
