I wonder whether anyone is connected to this family.
On the 1851 census of Newcastle upon Tyne, my GASCOIGNE family are recorded at Nimmis Entry as:
Henry GASCAIN, Head, 29, married, Labourer, born Ireland
Elenor GASCAIN, Wife, 29, married, born Newcastle
Martha GASCAIN, Daughter, 3, born Newcastle
Margaret GASCAIN, Daughter, 1, born Newcastle
Thomas James GASCAIN, Brother, 21, Smith, born Newcastle
William GASCAIN, Father, married, 60, Labourer, born Ireland
Elenor's maiden name was Jones. Their third child and my GGF William was born a few months after the census in December 1851.
There appear to have been three further children, Henry born 1853, Thomas born 1856 and Eleanor, born 1861.
If anyone is connected, please let me know as I'd love to swap notes.
