Both Black and White Grafton Gazaway, also Indian?

Mr. Allison,

There are both black Grafton Gazaways and white Grafton Gazaways. That might make DNA genealogy interesting. Also my father, Clifford Gazaway, and my grandfather, John Henry Gazaway, both claimed they were part Indian. One of my bothers looked so much native american that he was called "Chief" in the army.

My line is:

Joseph Gazaway
. Grafton GAZAWAY born 1848
. . John GAZAWAY born 1881
. . . Clifford GAZAWAY born 1911
. . . . Clifford (Clif) Mainard GAZAWAY born 1940
