Your message was very interesting. My father's family (GARZA) is from a small pueblo in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The pueblo, now called Dr. Gonzales used to be named Hacienda de Ramos before 1880. My great-grandfather, MARGARITO GUTIERRES de la GARZA was born there in 1860 and moved northward through Rio Grande City around the turn of the century. He married my great-grandmother, MANUELA GONZALES in 1896 at a place called Piedras Pintas located somewhere in Starr County, Texas. From there they moved northeastward to Corpus Christi where my family is from.

I am wondering about your mother's GARZA ancestors. Does she have any from Dr. Gonzales/Hacienda de Ramos, Nuevo Leon? Thanks. Catherine.
