In my search at the LDS Family History Center, I saw "Maria Josefa Buenaventura" listed in the baptismal register (microfilm #0605493, Indices de bautismos, parish register, Marin, N.L.), daughter of Leonardo Salinas and Teresa Villareal, 1805. Don't know if this you have definitely pinpointed her natural parents - could be that she was adopted or raised by the de la Garzas, as there is a strong connection and many inter-marriages between the Villareals and de la Garzas (I'm searching for Buenaventura de la Garza Villareal and family, also married into Salinas family). This baptismal index is a microfilm of the original parish record (not a modern transctiption)and is a wealth of information - very easy to read, and nearly the entire 1800's on this one film. If you find a promising lead, you can order the baptismal record microfilm and copy the exact entry (which are not all so easy to read and sometimes take a lot of time to go through and decipher). Let me know if you have questions or don't have LDS FHC near. Good luck!
