I have seen two Garza coats of arms. One has a heron with a chest wound on the left side of the shield and an upright ladder on the right side. The other one has a heron on the left side of the shield, and six balls, two on the top, two in the middle, and two on the bottom. Now I am far from an expert on Spanish Heraldry, but in English Heraldry, coats of arms are personal identifiers to the point that if Marcos Alonzo had a crest, it would be only his coat of arms. The first son, if he had a crest, would be required to modify the crest leaving, in this case, the heron and adding some other variation. And so on and so on down the generations. There are companies that sell what they call "Family Crests", however, I would be leary about what specific Garza family the crest represents since, as I said, coats of arms are specific to individuals. For all of us out there who purchased a store-bought Garza Family Crest... hang it on the wall and enjoy. Paul Garza
