My father's father-Juan Garza Ochoa- was born in a small town outside of Monterrey, Cadereyta, probably between 1888 and 1898. He was one of 22 (YIKES!) children:two girls and 20 boys (YIKES AGAIN!). Juan's saintly mother was named was Ochoa Rendon. Juan himself married Francisca Ortiz Sepulveda (or Salazar), who had three children-Ernesto, Ruben and Laura. Does any of this ring any bells? Also, I inquired of my father about the jewish connection. He was told some five years ago by a cousin in Monterrey that the Garzas are jewish (though it was news to me until I got onto the internet yesterday ).
