I was happy to see Marcos Alonso's parents' names. I did not have those. How did you find them and where? My de la Garza (dlg) lines comes from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon in the late 1700s (that's as far back as I have gotten so far). They moved northeast to a little town named Doctor Gonzales (before 1880 it was called Hacienda de Ramos). From there, my great-grandfather, MARGARITO GUTIERRES DE LA GARZA moved to the Rio Grande City, Texas, area. He married MANUELA GONZALEZ in 1894 and they began their family in the area. My grandfather, their second eldest child, SALVADOR GONZALEZ GARZA was born in 1900. He moved (with his parents I believe and all his younger siblings) to Corpus Christi, Texas, and he married JUANA CHAPA at or near the Chapman Ranch in the mid 1920s. Their third eldest child, my father was born in Corpus. It is my Gonzalez line (through my great-grandmother--MANUELA GONZALEZ) that I end up at Marcos Alonso de la Garza. I assume I will end up with him on my Garza line as well, I just haven't gotten that far back yet. I also have BENAVIDEZ, TREVINO, CHAPA, GUTIERRES, PEREZ, MARTINEZ, MANCAYO, RODRIGUEZ, CONTRERAS, and ALVAREZ in my tree that I am researching. If anything connects with you, please let me know. Thanks. Catherine
