Check out this website, because I am searching for Luther Gary, b. 1811 in Maine. The old family story is that there were two brothers than came over here from Ireland and their real names were McGary, but because there were so many Mc's on the boat they changed it to Gary. They were known as the Gary boys, as was the way that they use to mention all the Mc's. Like McDonald, the donald boys, McKay, the Kay boys, etc.
Anyway, I am having no luck at all, but I believe some of the information you might be searching is in the websites that I have put out there for help.
