I wonder which census he found Milton Gary in? In the federal 1840 census he was 16 so would have been listed only as a child/male/female with only the head of household named. Are there state census that listed him? I would love to check that out. So.. it looks like the Knapps and Gary's did come from the same town and moved to PA around the same time.. then on to Illinois/Iowa.

I wondered about a death record in a church in Lowden.. actually they lived in Springfield (which no longer exists) but I didn't know the religion. How many churches did they have in that little town I wonder? And are they still standing or might they have burned and the records with them? Someone gave me the death record found in the court house but no parents.

Do you know of any of Milton's siblings? Do you think he could be related to this Johnson Gary from Eldon,McKean, PA?

I have the marriage record for Milton and Aurilla if you would like a copy I could email it to you.. (unfortunately no parents listed there either...)
