There was a William W. Gary in the 4th Battalion, GA sharpshooters, and in the 7th Reg. Vol. Inf B., and the 37th Infantry Reg. D. during the Civil War. I don't know if they were all different men or all the same man at different times. However, he probably was born in the late 1830's or early 1840's, and it seems reasonable that at least one was a son of William Wesley Gary of Georgia.
