The only thing I can connect here are the GARREY and PENDEGAST names and the fact that they were in Iowa. I am looking for the family of Michael GARREY and wife Ellen PENDEGAST GARREY who are both buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein, IA. Their son was Michael "Mike" GARREY (1860-1943. So I'm estimating Mike's parents DOB to be anywhere between and about 1840 - 1820 and maybe they could be related to your GARRY and PENDEGAST family in IA. I wonder if the Woodlawn Cemetery is on the internet? I need to search for it.
