I live in County Antrim, N Irelandand am doing a worldwide study into the names Garvin, Garvan and Garven etc.I have indexed the Scottish births and deaths from 1855-1863.I intend to do more of this but havn't got round to it.I see your Elizabeth in 1855 and a Janet in 1857.Our name has always been spelt Garvin although in the early days of registration it got spelt Garvan and Garven. The name Garven only appears in Scotland now.I see that Ayr is the most common place where Garvins have lived in the UK.How many of your Garven relations have you traced.I will be interested to know about the Garvins of Scotland. Are many into family history. My great great great grandfather was a Wm John Garvin born about 1770 in Castledawson, County Londonderry, NI.I have traced 2500 descendants all over the world.
