Can anyone help with any info on John Garvie?
Wife -
Mary Ward (b. abt 1824)
Children -
Isabella "Bella" Chisholm Garvie (1861-1938)
Mary Garvie (b. abt 1863)
George Garvie (b. abt 1866)
On the 1881 census Mary and the 3 children are listed, but not John. Perhaps away on business? Or in the army? Mary is listed as 'wife(head)', not 'widow', so John was probably still alive.
Mary is listed as born in Greenock, Renfrewshire. Children were all born in Carfin, registered in Bothell, Lanarkshire.
Anyone got any leads or recognize anything here?
