I also have Garvies originally from Perthshire, but ending up in Poland/Russia. Mona Kedslie McLeod wrote a book you should read: "Agents of Change, Scots in Poland 1800-1918) She mentions the Garvie family at Zyrardow and other places in Poland/Russia starting with James and his brother Thomas. There is a whole chapter on the Garvie family as they are direct ancestors of hers (and mine).
My connection is through Thomas GARVIE (b1794) m Catherine SINCLAIR. Their daughter Irene married Francis KEDSLIE. They ended up moving to Ontario Canada from Poland. They were my gggrandparents.
Any connection?
