It is the beginning of a new century so it seemed a good time to enquire whether any have a Perthshire GARVIE in their genealogies? While I am interested in all of the Garvies of Perthshire (all information will be useful) I am now looking especially for the ancestry of John GARVIE who married Janet LUKE 20 October 1839 and who resided in Forteviot, Aberdalgie, and Perth during the 19th Century. They had children:
James 29 January 1840
George Abt. 1842
John 14 May 1843
Jane Abt. 1845
Laurance 12 July 1845 (my great grandfather)
Elizabeth Abt. 1848
Charles Abt. 1850
Margaret Abt. 1854
Jessie Abt. 1856
Mary Ann Abt. 1858
John died in 21 August 1898 and is believed to be buried at Balgay Cemetery, Dundee (Anyone know of a cemetery list?). Janet died 15 May 1884 and is buried in Aberdalgie.
Any possible leads would be appreciated.
