Hi Bill!
Gee the information just keeps getting longer and longer! Thanks so much for all that GREAT information in the print out. My mum is really looking forward to seeing it when I see her next!
I wish there were more people like yourself Bill, researching with the same enthusiasm, the other branches of my family! It would make it SO much easier!

There are a couple of ammendments to and some small typo's in your info that you may want to adjust, but otherwise, you are pretty much "on the ball".

My father Kenneth James Day was born in Leichardt. My mother Lynette (Newton) Day and dad were married in 1961 (my error). I have since found out that my mother was actually born at 60 Cavendish St, Enmore, Sydney, but was later transferred to Marrickville, Sydney due to Beatrice's health following the birth.
The Cavendish St address was a private hospital, so I'm told, that was owned by Mary Ann Gartrell's daughter, Penelope (Arey)
Woodford (Aunty Nell)and she was also the Matron in charge.

Harold Francis Laver, was actually my mother's step father not her natural father, and only Beatrice knew who the natural father was, but would never say.
You could say Beatrice was very ahead of her time, as her motivation for having a child when she was single, was that she didn't know if she would ever meet Mr. Right. She was determined that she was going to have a child, and supported that child on her own without welfare, as this didn't exist.
Even when she married Harold Laver, he still didn't turn out to be Mr. Right, as she later found out that he had a gambling habit and was being pursued by the police as a murder suspect.
Beatrice and her young daughter, Lynette, fled into the night with little more than the clothes on their backs.

Beat was frowned upon by many members of the family because they felt it brought shame onto the family. But I for one, am glad she did what she did, because if she hadn't, I would not be here today!

I haven't verified the date of Mary Ann Gartrell's birth, my information says 18 May, 1857, but your 12 May, may already be verified.

The places of Robert Arey and Penelope Harvey's children, we were originally told, was Beaver Meadows, Minnesota, however, I have since found another person researching Arey's in Luzerne Co. PA(where Robert Ellwood Arey was born ), and he tells me that a little town called Beaver Meadows exists near Hazletown, PA. We have also found a Hazletown Census document with my Arey's on, so we believe this is the right state.

Also the Arey surname changes spelling all the time. In England it was AREY, in the USA, it was AIREY, then on arrival in Australia, it changed to AREY again.

Finally Hector Pope Melville was born in East Milton.

I don't know if you have my children's details Bill, but if not, here they are:

1. Kieran Keith Burnside Boundy b. 5 Nov, 1987 Nowra, NSW.

2.Tegan Lisha Boundy b. 18 May, 1991
Nowra, NSW

3.Troy Daniel Boundy b. 30 May, 1992
Nowra, NSW

4. Kyall Liam Newton Boundy b. 23 June, 1997, Nowra, NSW

5. Kristoffer Dale Boundy b. 8 Oct, 1998.
Camperdown, Sydney, NSW

Hope this has been of some help, if we discover anymore information over here, I'll be sure to let you know. By the way do you know if there is anyone out there with photo's or paintings or sketches of any of the Australian or earlier Gartrell's from that line? I'd be willing to share copies of mine with anyone else who would like to swap.

Thanks again, I look forward to seeing who else comes out of the woodwork!
