His wife's obituary: Bakersfield Californian, The (CA) - Sunday, March 21, 2010 Vivian Garton 1929 - 2010 Services will be held for Vivian Larson Garton on Tuesday, March 23, at 2:00 p.m., at Mission Family Mortuary Chapel, 531 California Ave., Bakersfield, CA. Vivian was born in Sonora, CA to Ida and Alton "Pat" Larson in 1929. She married Clyde Garton in 1953 and lived most of their lives in North Fork, CA. Vivian worked in numerous jobs throughout her life. She was a bookkeeper for many years and, after leaving North Fork for Bakersfield, she worked as a motel clerk, and a pit clerk at a Las Vegas casino. She enjoyed playing bridge and bingo. She was a member of Eastern Star. Vivian is survived by her two sons, Donald Garton of Bakersfield and Alan Garton of Cambria, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband and oldest son, Ronald. Vivian also had two granddaughters, Ainslee and Briana; and two great great grandchildren, Emilia and Jesse.
