GARTONs of East Yorkshire

Our GARTONs come from Burton Fleming or North Burton and Rudston. We have a baptism of John GARTON,s/o John GARTON & Mary LOWSON, 1773 in Burton Fleming. As well there was another son, Luke GARTON. John GARTON (1773) married Jane INGRAM in 1794 in Rudston. They had a son, George (1797) and a son John (1799) both born in Rudston. John GARTON (1799) married Jane SMITH in 1826 in Foxholes and had a number of children, one of whom is my husband's 2X Great Grandmother, Ann Elizabeth GARTON (1843). I know that the GARTON line extended to many other places as Luke's family came from many areas including Hull as one place. As well in the 1851 census, there is a Thomas GARTON age 37 living with wife, Rachel in Foxholes. He indicates that he was born Driffield. I suspect he may connect with our family as one of Ann Elizabeth's siblings is living with them as a Servant. It is likely that she is related with both sharing the same surname. If anyone has any info on GARTONs that may connect, please contact me at janetlovegrove@rogers.com

Thanks
