The Gartners that were my inlaws were from Vollmer Russia but were German speaking. They came to the US on the "La Connie" landing in Boston in 1911/12. There was an Elizabeth Gartner born in 1905. Her grandmother was also an Elizabeth, married to Jacob Gartner of Vollmer, Russia.
I have no information beyond my Aunt Elizabeth.
