Our family's oral history [passed from Reuben Allyn Garthright was that two brothersleft VA. after the Rev. War to Cumberland Plateau TN. to claim Rev.war land grants. One moved to Stewart Co. GA. and raised a family there on a Indian Wars treaty allotments granted to militia who served . Had he survived the Mex./Am.war, JAG could have claimed a militia land grant in TX.
