I recently joined Blaine Scott and Gertie Garreau searching the Gareau name who have been in touch with you a few years ago. It doesn't sound like we are part of your family but I wanted to let you know Gertie found a land record and on that record it states the name of John Gorreau dit. St. Onge in Wellington County, Arthur, Ontario. He is in our line. A French Canadian friend of mine told me she thought St. Onge was in Quebec. I can't find it, although I see different business addresses and people's last names there so felt there must be a St. Onge, Quebec. We are researching John Garrow/Harriette Wilkie born about 1802. This is the first time I've seen John Gorreau dit. St. Onge and was quite excited to see that meant where he was from. Another part of our team researching is Pat Morris and she saw your site and directed me to it, so I could see St. Onge was a province of France. Just wanted to let you know we are part of the Gareau dit St. Onge, although don't see a connection with you. We believe my Harriet Garreau (lots of different spellings)(1827) is the daughter of the above John Gorreau (Garrow) and know she was born in Quebec, but don't know exactly where except I thought St. Onge from above info. Any thoughts? Thanks. Mae
