Michel and Pelagie had a child named Leon b. Nov. 17, 1830 and died May 11, 1832. They had another child, however, that they also named Leonard. He is listed in the 1850 Census of Plattsburgh, NY being age 16. He is presumably the one who was born Aug. 18, 1833 in NY and died Oct. 7, 1912 in Enosberg Falls, VT. He was the Leon that may have married Martha Benoit. As such, both Leons were likely the children of Michel/Mitchell Garand/Garrow and Pelagie Bousquet. I have not been able to locate any marriage records of Leon and Martha to show the parents or an 1860 census that could show parents living with them. If you have any thoughts regarding this, please let me know.
