Hi Nigel, Is your wife's Garrod French Canadian? My Garrow was sometimes written as Garrod when they arrived in the states from Quebec. I have seen the Garrod name in connection to the UK and in some of the Southern states of the US, as well as Garrow from Scotland, that could be a connection. I am not sure that this will help you, but if they were from Quebec I can suggest some good sites to look into for more information. Good luck !
