Hi - while looking for connections to my Garrisons, I came across your query.Basic City was a part of Waynesboro, not Staunton. In fact, this part of Waynesboro ( at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains is still called "Basic".)Waynesboro is perhaps 12 or 13 miles east of Staunton, both Route 250 and Interstate 64 run through it.The name Basic City came from the famous organ factory, Basic-Wirtz and the area was a bustling (and elegant) part of town at the turn of the century. But, it became even more industrial and the grounds of the larger homes were developed.Hope this helps.
