Hi, Shirley, I assume you are descended from Joseph and Sarah and if so I have a cousin of yours, named June, in our Garrison group, but she is related to me from her Abner Garrison line..her grandfather's line. Her grandmother was descended from Joseph and his cousin John Garrison.

I assume your Mary Martha did go with her parents to Missouri if they went in 1850 since according to the info June has given me, she was born in 1836 in Overton, Tn., and died Jan 19, 1915 in Douglas Co., Mo; June has her husband as Pleasant Loftis so I am assuming his name was actually William Pleasant, perhaps? Since you have him as William P. Loftis. She would have only been 14 when they went, but since she died there that is better evidence! <G>

Do you perhaps know who Joseph's parents were? June's grandmother said that John Garrison born 1822 in Tennessee
was his cousin.

Did Mary and William have a daughter named Martha J. born 1852? Hmm. June has her born in Tennessee though. Joseph's cousin John married one of Joseph's granddaughters so I guess it was Mary and William's daughter, Martha J. Loftis, b. 1852 in Overton, Tn. She was John's 3rd wife.

June also shows a son William B. Garrison b. 1851 in Overton, Tn., to Joseph and Sarah. Any chance they might have gone after 1852? I see by her notes that William was born in Tn. also and maybe they were married before they left. I know often girls married that young but maybe more likely at 16? However one way or the other she died in Douglas Co, so married or not, she went! <S> I will be happy and interested to correspond with you about your Joseph and family. We have had no luck finding the parents of either Joseph or John and I hope you have!!! Marti
