In my old emails, I find that I wrote in 2006 with a George A. Keigler, husband of Margaret "Peggy" Patterson Smith Keigler (sadly deceased 2004) regarding a Cornelius GARRISON line. Margaret had filed her 1992 research on her GARRISON line at NYGB which I had copied from their vertical files. Her line roughly included names like Elva Loretts CURRY wife of Thomas Howard Patterson, with the Alfred Selman Garrison line in an extended family...
So, is the Cornelius in the Keigler research the same as the one written about above- I do not know. Maybe someone does.
If I am reading my old writings (based on Peggy Keigler's work) correctly, it appears as though - maybe- this Cornelius was: son of John Garrison born abt 1710/Ann GUYON. Cornelius born 1736/37 m. Susannah POCOCK. Their son, John GARRISON m Mary BIRMINGHAM. Then my notes say Peggy seemed to change her mind, apparently confronting some obstacle...Ann GARRISON b. 1784 m. Thomas MILES seems to be the line where Peggy may have changed her view... I do not have any recollection if this possible paper trail twist was ever sorted out- but I dont think so... The male line tested for DNA sided with Gerrit Jansen Van Oldenburg group, if I recall correctly, and I cant say if it could be independent of the female Ann GARRISON Miles branch.
Note the Miles GARRISON born 1780 died 1852, buried at Old Swedes Church, Swedesborough NJ- gravestone missing- if someone heads down the MILES slippery slope.
