Brenda:
I am throwing this out to you as a potential #9 above, as I have been through every issue of The Quarterly from the YCGHS in the last week or so, and it is inconclusive as to where to place Valdaura Norris Garrison (1799-1880) m. 1) Eleanor Teague and 2) Martha E. J. Bowers.
I also just found Valdaura in 1830 Madison County, Alabama.
The Quarterly indicates Benjamin's sister Sarah (1768-1840) m. 1) John Campbell (1764-1812) and 2) Hugh White (1757-1828).
Page 232 of "York County, South Carolina Will Abstacts 1787-1862 [1770-1862]" by Brent H. Holcomb has an abstract of the will of Sarah White of York District from which I quote "... To my well beloved nephew Valdaura Norris Garison, all my monies, notes, bonds, accounts or legacies due to me with two feather beds and all the bedclothes, also one trunk, one pine painted chest with their contents with al my stockings. I also will my wearing apparel to the said V. N. Garison. To my niece Sarah W. Garison my bureau, saddle & Bridle. I appoint my nephew V. N. Garison, my sole executor, 12 Oct 1833. Sarah White (mark), Wit: Myles Smith, John Smith, R. D. Smith. Proved 7 Sept 1840 ..."
Do you think Valdaura might be #9 above?
Bill
