Garrison DNA Projects
I am descended from a female Garrison. Her name was Cassandra "Cassie" Garrison, born in 1830 in Indiana, to to Paul and Sylvia Garrison. On 10 Sep 1848, Cassie married John Thomas Bassett in Barry Co., Missouri.
I am writing this because I would like to invite any, and all, Garrison descendants to Google the "Bassett Family DNA Project."
The gentleman that maintains and coordinates thisBassett DNA site, Jeffery Bassett, has done a great job of getting an enormous database organized, and set up, so that the all of the Bassett family groups "are goin' for it!" The whole plan is to find the links, or lack of, of every Bassett family line on the planet. Jeffrey Bassett is getting DNA from everywhere, England, Wales, Ireland etc., and we are finding our roots.
Individuals from our male Bassett line donated DNA, and we now know that we are descended from "Thomas (2B) Bassett, b. 1617 in England, who sailed to York County, Virginia aboard the "Truelove" on 10 Jun 1635. Now, I'm not sellin' DNA kits, but isn't that cool?
We can't contribute to the Garrison data, because we descended from a female line.
So check out Jeffrey's website. He is a nice man, and I'm sure he would be happy to help his "cousins."
Go for It!
