Hello Shirley,
I feel sure that we have communicated previously about the Garrisons/Garrettsons.I am not sure but that your email address is no longer valid, but I am posting this here for you, and for any interested parties.
While in New Castle County, Delaware a few years back researching my Bird family of Delaware and Orange County NC, I happened across this last will and testament. There was a Henry Garrison with a wife named Ann who appeared first in the records of Orange/Alamance County, NC; shortly after records of other Garrisons began to appear.I have not fully determined that Henry was the progenitor of the others, but I have listed him as such until I can find other information. The children I have listed for Henry died in the period ca. 1825/30, which places them at more than a generation from the Garrett Garrettson who died in 1755, so there appears to have been an intervening generation which appears to be Henry Garrettson whom I believe to be the Henry named in the following will:
>>Will written and probated in New Castle, Delaware, Christiana Hundred, 21 January 1755; probated 17 February 1755. Misc. 1.23.Wife, Mary; son John; sons. Henry, George, Garret and Jacob; two daughters, Ann and Rebecca; daughter, Eleanora.Exc. son, John; wife, Mary.Overseer, William Armstrong.(Calendar of Delaware Wills, 1754-1756, New Castle County, pages 52-53.<<
As far as I know I do not have a Garrison lineage, but the Garrison family interconnected with so many cousins of various families that I do have in Alamance, Orange, and Caswell Counties, that I felt compelled to do some research on the family so that I could better understand relationships.
You may check some of these relationships at:
