Hi Karin.......Yes I have seen the queries about Samuel but I never made a connection to him until recently and that only being the fact that there was a Samuel living in Monroe, Orange Cty, NY in 1820.The census for 1820 shows two Samuels living in Monroe....both with 3 males and 2 females in the family....quite a coincidence but they are different Samuels.....in the 1835 New York State census there is a Samuel in Monroe which shows two males and two females in the family......in 1840 there is a Samuel with one male under 5....one male 10 and under 15.....one male 50 and under 60.....one female 15 and under 20 and one female 50 and under 60.These censuses are the originals that I obtained from the County Clerk in Goshen, New York.I live in the Town of Haverstraw and am not very far from any of these places.....you may or may not know that Haverstraw was a part of Orange Cty at the time Samuel enlisted in the army......Rockland Cty was formed in 1792.I have histories of both Orange and Rockland Counties but unfortunately I have loaned them to a friend.....when they are returned to me I will pass on to you any information that they contain relative to any Garrison's in either area prior to the Revolutionary War.......Don't give up!!!!!Joe
