Pearl Garris b. 1894 Wilkes Co., Nc to Arthur W. Garris and Elizabeth "Betty" M. son of John Patterson "Pet" Garris and Elizabeth Combs. I have them on back to Va, Yorkshire, England to Garris, France. Did they go to Illinois. Many in this Wilkes, NC area left to Indiana and Illinois as they were opened after the Revolutionary War to push back the Indians and settle the country as King George of England forbade them to go past the Appalachain Mountains in order to better control them.
Does this Parker family relate to the Parker families that went from Illinois to settle near Grosebeck, Texas near Tyler/Jacksonville,Texas at Fort Parker where Cynthia
Ann Parker was captured as a very young girl by the Commanche indians, had 2 sons and a daughter, one son Quannah Parker was the last Chief of the Commanche. She was found and brought back by Sul Ross-Sul Ross University is named after him, and she was buried in Grosebeck, Tx, son Quannah had her reburied at Ft. Sill, Ok with him and other son and daughter whom she yearned to be with so much she starved herself to death.
