The father of Walter and Nellie per Walter Arthur GARINGER's death certificate was Dan GARINGER. Walter was b. 8 Feb 1877 in WI and d. 3 Apr 1964 in Waterloo Black Hawk Co. IA. He was a widower. The 1880 Bremer Co. census list's Dan's birth place as PA and his age as 27.
