Looking for information about Esther Adams, the second wife of John Garringer (1809-1833) and their child Vashti Garringer. They were married in 1832. Esther married in 1837 to William S. Rider, mentioned as co-exc of the 1843 will of his father-in-law, Samuel Adams. They had a son Charles Rider whereabouts also unknown. But the records of a relative who stayed in Delaware Co. OH named daughter Vashti as a Rider also. Esther (Adams) Garringer Rider married 3rd to ---Randall. The Adams family was from Putnam Co. NY and moved to Berlin Delaware Co OH in 1828.

David Garringer married Tamar Adams in Delaware Co. OH and his family moved to Jay County IN where Tamar (Adams) Garringer died 1850/1860 no g.s. Anyone know??

According to family records in the possession of a descendant of David Garringer and Tamar Adams, sister of Esther Adams, John and David Garringer (1807-1863) were brothers. From that family the information is also that David and John Garringer were sons of Jacob Garringer and Martha Ann Moore.

A third Adams sister, Sarah Adams, married William Moore and moved with the David Garringer family to Pike, Jay Co. IN

In the records from the David Garringer family, there was a son Jacob listed but with no other information.

Am cross-checking information on this family for inclusion in a website on the Adams family. Would appreciate help on errors and additions as well as ANY lead about Esther (Adams) Garringer Rider Randall & family.

Janet
