Hi Elaine,
Nobody has told me anything about the family. I have researched it myself - I've been at it since 2000. I believe the Calmels were Hugonouts and fled France because of their religious believes - not political ones as you've stated. I've gone back to 1812 on the Calmels line - Paris, France.
I can send you a report of all my research if you're interested and would appreciate any gaps you can fill in to complete my research.
I'll need your email address as I can't post a big report on here.
