Seeking info on ancestry of John Garrard of GA

I am a descendant of John Garrard and Mary Bolt through their daughter Frances "Frankey" who married John Barron, and am trying to untangle his ancestry. The information I am seeing is conflicting to say the least. Is he a descendant of Pierre (Peter) Garrard the Huguenot refugee? What was John's father's name?
