Helen, as you may have read in my previous messages re: Sarah Waters as the wife,or first wife, of Jacob Garrard, my data originated from the research done by my deceased aunt. I have no way to verify it now. Her sources for this area were: Virginia Historical Magazine, vol VIII, pp. 77, 109, 110, 112.
        Colonial Register, by Wm. S. and Mary Standard, vol VI, pp. 108-112.
        C. H. Browning's "Colonial Dames of Royal Descent."
        Slaughter's "St. Mark's Parish".
I have not been able to find these books, magazines, etc., but someone with access to a large genealogical library possible could.
Also, Anthony Garrard, Jacob's first son, named his first daughter Sarah Waters. Why would he do this if she were not his real mother?
