I wanted to add to this information. Michael Gaar was a Revolutionary Soldier and his grave was marked largely by the efforts ofthe Local DAR of Elbert County GA and James Mitchell a SAR descendant of the family from Texas.Michael Gaar's name is listed as one of the Military on a monument in that area also. Along with Benjamin Goss who was the father of Isham Goss that mariied Nancy Gaar, daughter of Michael Gaar. Michael Gaar is buried near George Gaar and wife near Vann Creek Baptist Church. This family has a very rich ancestrial history. The book in reference to the Wilhite/Wilhoit Letters is posted on Google as an ebook. It is the work of John C Gaar finishing what his father John Wesley Gaar began. One Whilite connection is that Michael Gaar married Elizabeth Wilhite and their daughter as stated above Nancy md Isham Goss. Frances Sims was another daughter of Michael and Elizabeth Wilhite. Isham Goss and Nancy Gaar's daughter Sally Whilite Goss married William Talley. They are my great great grandparents. Their daughter Nancy Gaar Talley md Edwin Evander Chapman my great grandparents and thereby connecting the Giles Chapman From Bridlington England families to the Germanna Gaar family of Andreas Gaar the Immigrant. The history of the Gaar Book is of Andreas. and includes the Crigler, Wilhoit and Fisher families because of marriages.Bettye Vann Knight [email protected]
