Did your great grandfather come through Ellis Island, NY? I just found my husband's ggf, Cataldo, from Cataldo, Sicily, at http://www.ellisislandrecords.org. He also emigrated in 1907. It is difficult to access the website becuase it is new, but perseverance pays off.
Cataldo (known as John in US) was a tailor. We believe he married Frances Lumetta. They had 8 sons in Secaucus, NJ. is there any relationship?
