I have been researching my Frederick GARNETT b-1838 ancestor. He can from Prussia in 1855 settling in Cuyahoga co Ohio for 10yrs where he married Mary Caroling JUENGLING. After the birht of their first son Albert in 1865, they moved to Clear Creek, Johnson co, Iowa. They had several children.
I believe Frederick's name may have been GARNATZ in Prussia. I have found other GARNETT families in Sac co Iowa who were originally GARNATZ.
Has anyone else had the same experience?
