Adam LINDSAY [b. about 1747 and d. 1822] was the husband of Elizabeth "Betty" GARNETT, daughter of James GARNETT and Sarah TAYLOR.

Elizabeth [GARNETT] LINDSAY had a brother named Thomas GARNETT [1744-1796]. I suspect that the land deed of October 22, 1778 might have been between this Thomas GARNETT and his brother-in-law Adam LINDSAY. But I can't find any direct links with the family of William McKINNEY who witnessed the land transaction. Perhaps McKINNEY was just a neighbor or family friend of the GARNETTs or LINDSAYs.

There is a much later connection between the GARNETT family and the McKINNEYs, however.

Emma Frances GARNETT [1854-1945] was married to Charles B. McKINNEY [1847-1918] on October 9, 1872 at Monroe County, Missouri. This Emma GARNETT was the daughter of Thomas C. GARNETT and Mary RILEY, and the granddaughter of Anderson Thomas GARNETT and Mary Wade TAYLOR.
