Hi Jeane:
Would like to know which ancestor you need information for beside Louisiana Texana Garner? She did have six siblings and was born in Tennesseee about 1845, and married Frances Carolinus Stamps, who was also born in Louisiana in March 23, 1839, on November 30, 1863 in Woodville, Jackson Parish. Her sisters, known to me, were: Mary J. , and Ellinor Ann.Her brothers were listed as Oscar, and Pierce (but believe I read somewhere there were actually seven children , but will have to recheck my information. Tilden Stamps, my grandfather and son of Frances Carolinus Stamps, was born on November 29, 1876.According to William Stamps', my cousin who has done extensive genalogical research and has created a book, titled Stampe with a family crest in which he complied his extensive information, and his father', Charles T. Stamps who was attorney who hired a professional researcher, , states, "Their first child was born May 26, 1864, shortly after their marriage and move to Texas." pg. 617.So this is the main time referenceI am aware of which which only gives an approximate time as to what year this couple moved to Texas. Two men, with the surname of Garner, (O.B Garner and PA. Garner of Bonham Tx,--both of these men I personally believe are her relatives due to other information given me by William Stamps, (teacher and Morman , another internet researcher named Bogney, and Texas State Archives official records) sworn that Frances Carolinus Stamps enlisted June 1862 in the 5 Louisiana Calvary under a Captain Randle.
To determine more specific information,( and I do have some but will have to get the records out, )the given name of the other Garner ancetors will have to sent to me.
