Hi Jerel,
Thanks for your response. I have no information on your family group. Our line descends from John Garmany who came to Newberry Co. SC about 1785. It is believed that 3 sons came with him, John II, William and Hugh. I descend from John II, through his son William Lawer. William Lawer and several of his brothers all went to GA. during the Gold Lottery and then some moved on further West. If your line had people in GA during this time, then perhaps there was a connection between the 2 families back in Ireland. I am sure all of us SC Garmany's would love to know more about your family. Perhaps you would like to join the "Garmany mailing list". It is very quiet now, but perhaps we could get some dialogue started.
To subscribe send the word "subscribe" (without the quotes) as the only text in the body of a message to GARMANY-L-request@rootsweb.com (mail mode) or GARMANY-D-request@rootsweb.com (digest mode)To post to both GARMANY-L and GARMANY-D, messages should be sent to GARMANY-L@rootsweb.com. Messages sent there will appear both places. Herb Abrams, is the List Administrator
Sincerely, Ann in NE Texas
